Planning Superintendent

As Planning Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in driving the direction, success and long-term planning of our high-margin underground Deflector Gold Copper Mine. Reporting to the Underground Manager and filling the role of Alternate Underground Manager intermittently as required, you will engage and lead a small team of Planning Engineers, ensuring high quality technical output and compliance with regulations. Working closely with the Mining Superintendent, this role offers a high level of autonomy and responsibility, as the primary technical professional in a high-performing and financially secure operation.Key responsibilities of this role will include:Oversee the development of safe, detailed underground mine designsManage the preparation of all medium and long-term schedules, from monthly and quarterly forecasts, up to LOM plans;Lead the preparation of the annual mine budget, including updating the power and cost models;Assist with annual Mineral Reserves reporting;Develop and maintain the cut-off grade strategy, including regular review of all inputs;Complete Feasibility and Due-Diligence evaluations on prospective mining areas;Complete financial evaluations and optimisations to ensure the most economical mine plan is implemented;Drive spatial compliance in order to meet monthly, quarterly and budget targets;Identify and communicate risks to the safe and efficient delivery of mine plans, including recommended mitigation strategies;Direct and lead members of the operational and technical mining teams, including the mining contractor;Work collaboratively with Mine Geology to design, schedule and manage grade control and resource definition requirements;Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and legislation; andProvide support to the Underground Mine Manager and operation as needed.ABOUT YOU:Your exceptional communication and leadership skills will ensure Deflector Mining’s high-performing, social and inclusive team culture continues to flourish.
