Mine Surveyor

Rothsay Gold Mine is a high-grade, narrow vein, underground gold mine located approximately 300kms north-north east of Perth and 85km south-east of Silver Lake’s Deflector Operations. Rothsay commenced underground mining late 2020 and comprises of two declines, with ore being mined via long-hole stoping methods using custom-made equipment.THE ROLE:Working closely with our experienced Mine Survey team, you will bring skill and expertise to our successful and busy Rothsay operation. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, you will deliver all site survey requirements for both the underground and surface aspects of the operation, using Leica Total station equipment as well as surface and underground drones. Key responsibilities of this role will include:Maintain accurate survey control of underground workings, surface development and stockpiles.Carry out detailed surveys for end-of-month volumes and reportingEffective use and maintenance of Leica Total Station and GPS equipmentConduct surface and underground drone survey work using a DJI M200 and Elios 3 Drone and associated processing software, including Pix4D and Global Mapper.Carry out CMS surveys of underground stopesGenerate accurate survey data and effectively communicate information to the technical team in a timely mannerEnsure Emergency Plans are up to date and easily accessibleProduce Mine Plans for regulatory submissionsInstallation of necessary survey control for directional control of miningProduce survey plans and memos as required to a high standardMaintain mining physicals statisticsAssist with compiling monthly reportsABOUT YOU:You are a motivated Surveyor who has an inquisitive mind, high attention to detail, and drive to continue to grow and develop professionally.   • Demonstrated underground mine survey experience
  • Working knowledge of Deswik software
  • Experience working with Leica Total Station equipment is preferred
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mine Surveying
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • High degree of self-motivation with the ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks
  • A professional attitude and the ability to work as part of a team or autonomously
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
