Rothsay commenced underground mining late 2020 and comprises of two declines, with ore being mined via long-hole stoping methods using custom-made equipment.THE ROLE:The role of Graduate Mine Geologist will see you working closely with experienced and talented professionals to build an exceptional foundation in the industry. You will have the opportunity to be exposed to a broad range of technical tasks, varying deposits and both technical and hands-on practical experience. You will learn industry best practice while understanding how to operate in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.Key responsibilities of the role will include:Undertake diamond core processing, including logging, mark-up and orientation, core cutting, sampling and other related measurementsAssist in marking up ore drives, stoping areas and air leg rises ahead of production activitiesAssist with underground mapping and sampling to minimise ore loss and dilution and increase the geological understanding of the depositLearn how to provide mining direction to ensure optimal ore position for stopingEnsure all data captured is recorded accuratelyAssist in entry of production data and the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports.Liaise with the Mine Geologists and Metallurgists to assist with ROM ore stockpile management to optimise the blend into the Process PlantExposure to block model generation and diamond drill program designReporting daily grade control activitiesExposure to Exploration team activities, such as soil sampling, RC, AC and Diamond drill programmesAbout YouYou are a collaborative and practical individual, who has fantastic interpersonal skills and shares our passion for excellence.
