THE ROLEYour role as Geotechnical Engineer at the Deflector Gold/Copper mine will involve optimising the safe expansion of mine infrastructure & mining activities by applying your extensive knowledge of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles. Working back-to-back with another Geotechnical Engineer, and with the support of the Perth-based Geotechnical Superintendent, you will take ownership of Geotechnical input into stope design, mine planning, ground control planning, auditing and development design, allowing you a high amount of autonomy and responsibility.Responsibilities include:Implementing and improving standards and procedures in respect to ground stability, ground monitoring and controlEnsuring geotechnical inspections of mining operations are regularly conductedProvide training and mentoring to your back-to-back Geotechnical EngineerBe involved with Seismic system commissioningAdvising and assisting engineers with recommendations on geotechnical issuesSupporting the Underground Manager in the effective implementation of the Ground Control Management PlanUndertaking Ground Support Audits and providing solutions for addressing issues or concernsTake ownership of the seismic monitoring system for the siteInvestigating development and stope ground failuresActively participating in planning and production meetingsAssisting in the preparation of the weekly production plan.ABOUT YOUYou are a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional who is enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated to develop your skills.
