Rothsay commenced underground mining late 2020 and comprises of two declines accessing a narrow vein gold deposit.  The decline and level accesses are ‘conventional’ whereas the ore drives and production are of a much smaller scale.  Ore drive sizes are only 2.5mW x 3.0mH with longhole stoping widths of less than 1.2mW. This is the perfect mine to hone your skills and gain experience in true, high efficiency narrow vein mining.THE ROLE:We are looking for a motivated and solutions-focused Alternate Underground Manager to be a key part of Rothsay’s success. Working back-to-back with the Mine Manager/Site Senior Executive, the Alternate Underground Manager will also be the Alternate Site Senior Executive each swing, and be responsible on a daily basis for the control and supervision of the mine and all mining operations inclusive of the camp, airport, environmental duties, etc.  This includes management of several contractors from mining through to accommodation.This role will also play a key part in achieving company production and safety targets and ensuring team cohesion and common focus.Responsibilities will also include:Statutory responsibilities associated with being appointed the Alternate UG Manager and the Alternate Site Senior ExecutiveManagement of day-to-day production activities;Management of ancillary activities (camp, airport, etc);Effectively mentor, coach and develop members of the Technical Services team;Oversee the development and implementation of all mining instructions, designs, plans, etc;Review and improve standard processes and systems for mine planning and production;Work closely with the mining contractor to ensure performance is in line with the contract and mine plan;Work closely with ancillary contractors to ensure performance and compliance to associated regulations;Identify and complete mine infrastructure and optimisation projects as required;Produce accurate end of month reconciliation reports and contractor claims and accruals;Prepare annual budget and monitor ongoing cost against approved budget;Provide visible safety leadership and drive productivity improvement initiatives;Ensure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements;ABOUT YOU:You are a self-motivated, proactive person who can lead teams with a high level of accountability. You will be able to anticipate business needs and react quickly to ensure production output targets are achieved and continuity of ore production is maintained.
