Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes of Deflector and South West deposits. An accelerated near mine exploration program coupled with first production from the Southwest deposit make for it busy and exciting future for the Deflector team.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Planner provides scheduling, technical and equipment information to the Maintenance team. You will be responsible for providing periodic plans for plant and equipment to ensure the highest level of availability and utilisation is maintained. This key role will actively develop daily, weekly, crushing and mill shutdown plans, then maintain ongoing monitoring and scheduling of ad-hoc projects as they arise.
We are offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a stimulating and diverse role on a FIFO 15:13; 8:6 roster from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton and be an integral part of a small, committed, and exceptional Maintenance team.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Supervise jobs in field during shutdowns and project execution
- Provide maintenance expertise where required
- Screen Maintenance Requests generated via ‘PRONTO’(CMMS). Analyse labour, equipment and materials needed and schedule tasks accordingly
- Conduct planning meetings to liaise with Operations and Maintenance departments to produce a work schedule for each of the rostered shifts
- Produce shutdown plans using Microsoft Project when required
- Create shutdown work packs including Gantt charts, relevant permits, tools and equipment lists when required
- Produce Maintenance ‘End of Month’ reports
- Raise material, service and hire requisitions through ‘PRONTO’ ensuring the costs are allocated to the correct cost code
- Assess the criticality of site equipment and create a ‘Critical Spares list’ for items to be held as inventory on site
- Carry out enquiries to suppliers regarding the purchase of equipment, and comparing quotations
- Interrogate condition monitoring reports on a number of critical items of plant in order to accurately predict the lifespan of that piece of equipment and create follow up work orders of the correct priority to address issues raised.
- Manage mobile equipment maintenance, servicing and pre-starts and co-ordinate light vehicle maintenance with the Central Services Maintenance Superintendent
- Assist maintenance Superintendent to manage the Classified Plant Register
- Develop Preventative Maintenance tasks with the goal of increasing asset life and decreasing maintenance costs.
- Review Preventative Maintenance inspections and schedule new work based on the findings of the inspections
- Planning and supervision of permanent contractor work across sites.
- Assist in developing the end-to-end process for CAPEX project execution.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum of 2 years previous planning experience, Trade or Degree Qualification (preferably Mechanical);
- Trade Qualification (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Working knowledge and understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations and Classified Plant and Registered Plant legislation;
- Demonstrate a high level of knowledge for each section of the Processing plant including crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, concentrate bagging & containerising, tailings dams and water circuits, as well as the operational constraints of the process flow.
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office/Project and experience in computer-based maintenance systems (preferably Pronto);
- Hold a valid WA Driver’s License (manual C Class)
