Geology Technician – Coreyard (12 Month Maximum Term)

The Darlot mine is located about 900 km northeast of Perth and 121 km north of Leonora, in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, the Geology Technician, the Core yard is responsible for processing diamond drill core to facilitate grade control and resource definition requirements.This position will be offered on a 12-month maximum term contract. The position will be offered on an 14:14 roster FIFO from Perth.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Organise and maintain the core processing facility ensuring a safe work area in the coreyard. Maintain safe operation of equipment, conduct pre-starts and report hazards.Assist with core handling and processing which includes orientation lines, RQD, magsus, metre marking, core cutting, photography, sampling, and despatch of core.Upload RQD and magsus data on to database server. Ensure core photographs are stored correctly on the network.Monitor and report on issues with core quality and presentation from diamond drilling contractor.Stocktake on drilling and coreyard consumables on a regular basis. About You
