Silver Lake Resources is seeking an Underground Shift Supervisor for our Mount Monger â Daisy Milano operation. The purpose of the position of the Shift Supervisor is to perform first line crew supervision and monitoring and controlling of day to day underground mining activities to the highest level (in terms of quality, efficiency, trouble-shooting and time management) and be willing and able to cover for the Mining Foreman when called upon.Key areas of responsibility for the Underground Shift Supervisor include:Ensuring that only persons trained and assessed as competent, operate plant or equipment, or drive trackless units, machinery, or vehicles, in accordance with the requirements of the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulation 4.13.Communicating any information, data, design plans, directives, instructions, or the like, to personnel under your supervision and/or within your area of responsibility.Communicate relevant information and data to other personnel through formalised shift changes and use data reporting systems.Operating crew to its optimum performance level, ensuring mining operations are conducted in a safe manner and any safety issues are promptly reported.Liaising with any Contractors on site ensuring their work is coordinated with the other mining activities.Review each employee’s development, mentoring and motivating employees as appropriate.Conduct vehicle / mobile machinery pre-start checks and inspections on the mines mobile equipment ensuring that submitted documentation is accurately recorded and received in a timely manner.Incident Reporting â providing information and witness statements of personnel involved for further investigation if so required.Conducting Task Observations as required on operational personnel.Ensuring all development profiles, dimensions, grade and direction of jumbo headings mined as per the mine plans and instructions given.Ensuring ground support is installed as per the ground support standard.Conducting Daily Checks of the Portables Refuge Chambers located in the Mine.Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.As a minimum you must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:Have extensive Underground experience and/or currently be working in a similar positionPossess a valid WA Shift Supervisors Certificate and WA Drivers LicenceApplications are also sought from those who have similar interstate qualifications or the required experience to gain these WA qualifications.This position on a 7:7 DS & NS roster is ideally suited to a Kalgoorlie resident, and relocation will be offered if required; however FIFO will be considered for the right candidate.
