THE ROLE:This is an exciting time to take a leadership role at the high margin, low-cost Deflector Mine, as we capitalise on the development to the new high-grade South-West lodes. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent and taking day-to-day responsibility of managing the Production and Planning teams, you will develop mine schedules and ensure weekly and monthly delivery to the mine plan. You will play a key part in achieving company production and safety targets and ensuring your team’s compliance with systems and processes.Responsibilities will also include:Oversee the day-to-day production output of the Mining teamEffectively mentor, coach and develop Production & Planning EngineersCompile Life-of-Mine (LOM) designs and schedules, budget plans through to short term designs and 3-Month PlansOversee the development and implementation of drill and blast designsTake on the statutory role of Deputy Underground Manager as requiredReview and improve standard processes and systems for mine planning and productionWork closely with the mining contractor to ensure performance is in line with the contract and mine planIdentify and complete mine infrastructure and optimisation projects as requiredDevelop and maintain excellent working relationships with the underground contractor and wider technical services teamProduce accurate end of month reconciliation reportsProvide visible safety leadership and drive productivity improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with legislative and statutory requirements, production QA/QC, as well as company safety and environmental standardsABOUT YOU:You are a self-motivated, proactive person who can lead cohesive teams with a high level of accountability. You will be able to anticipate business needs and react quickly to ensure production output targets are achieved and continuity of ore production is maintained. You can manage multiple demands on your time with a calm and considered manner, and have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to inspire others.You have:Bachelor Mining Engineering BEng (minimum) or equivalentFirst Class WA Mine Manager’s certificate of competencyDemonstrated experience in supervising others, managing performance and instilling accountabilityPrevious experience with narrow vein underground gold miningRobust understanding of mine planning systems, including exposure to short, medium and long term forecastingStrong understanding of mine ventilation systems and statutory mine ventilation requirementsProficient use and application of MsOffice suite, and relevant mining software including Deswik Suite and VentSim"C" Class Driver’s licence and current Dangerous Goods Security Card.This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role managing a talented team of Engineers during an expansion phase of the Deflector Mine.
