We are looking for a suitably experienced professional to join the on-site Geology team at our Maxwell’s Underground mine at our Mount Monger Operations. The purpose of the position of Senior Mine Geologist is to add value to the Project Group by effectively and efficiently managing and supervising work programs for the advancement of the Mount Monger Operations. The role requires the incumbent to supervise Mine Operations Geological staff.Responsibilities include:Providing administrative and technical planning, management and leadership for the ProjectConducting routine reconciliation of underground production against, plan, grade control, resource and reserve modelsIdentifying exploration, development and grade control priorities to meet schedule and target outputAssisting and directing development of robust geological and mineralising models for effective mine planningWorking closely with Long Term Planning to optimise the ore body and maximise recoveryReducing geological risk to the mine plan through effective review of models and mine plan and where needed, ensure appropriate risk mitigating actions are implementedPreparation of monthly reports and Project technical reports.The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:Formal qualifications in GeologyAt least 8 years’ experience in mine geologySignificant underground experience in gold mineralisation in either narrow vein or BIF hosted environmentsA practical understanding of resource modelling techniques as they relate to gold mineralisationStrong Datamine skills and experience with Datashed, Supervisor and Leapfrog would be highly advantageousPlease address each of the above criteria in your cover letter; full role descriptions will be discussed at interview.The position reports to the Geology Manager and is integral to MMO’s ongoing success.
