This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geologist who is ready to or has begun the transition into the Mineral Resource estimation space. Working as part of the In-Mine geology team at our Deflector Gold/Copper mine and reporting to both the Chief Geologist and Principal Resource Geologist, this role will be integral in extending and maintaining the Deflector Mineral Resource through targeting, drillhole planning and estimation of Mineral Resources. This role would suit a confident and self-motivated Project Mine or Exploration Geologist with excellent attention to detail and a highly analytical approach who is looking for a mentoring opportunity to expand their Resource Geology skills.Key responsibilities of this role will include:Develop and maintain 3D mineralisation, lithological and structural models;Produce regular Grade Control block models;Assist with Mineral Resource modelling and reporting of the Deflector deposit;Working closely with the Exploration, Mine Geology and Underground Mining team to communicate geological, geotechnical and grade data to mining, management and contractor personnel;Effective planning and supervision of Resource definition and extensional drill programmes;Ensuring all geological data is collected and validated to high QAQC standards;Ensure safe work systems and practices are adhered to.ABOUT YOUYou are a high calibre Geologist who has an inquisitive mind and drive to continue to grow and develop professionally. Your exceptional problem solving skills, adaptability and capacity to work within a small team will see you excel in this role.This will be supported by the qualifications and experience:Tertiary qualifications in GeologyDemonstrated experience in a mine geology team, with some exposure to near-mine exploration;A sound understanding of narrow vein gold ore-forming processes;Proficiency using 3d modelling software, preferably Leapfrog and Surpac (exposure to Supervisor would be advantageous);A methodical approach to data management and validation processes;Working knowledge of the WA Mines Safety and Inspections Act and Regulations.This role is offered on an 8:6 FIFO basis and is an excellent opportunity develop your Resource skills with exceptional mentoring by the Principal Resource Geologist.
