Daisy Milano Gold mine has a rich history spanning more than 20 years of operation, with over 1 million ounces mined to date. With new mining area, Easter Hollows, well underway, Daisy continues to surpass expectations as the flagship mine of the Mount Monger Operations. With structurally complex quartz-hosted mineralisation, including numerous occurrences of visible Gold, Daisy presents an exceptional opportunity for a Geologist looking for the challenge of maximising ore recovery from a unique Gold deposit.THE ROLEWe are looking for a thorough and practical Project Geologist to join the Daisy team to take ownership of the underground grade control function, ensuring ore development is mined to optimise stope extraction. Working closely with the Senior Mine Geologist, you will provide input into the planning and implementation of Drill programmes, reconciliation and modelling of the deposit.Key responsibilities of the role will include:Design, monitor and log grade control drilling programsAccurately delineate the orebody ahead of miningMonitor actual development and stoping compared to planned, including the grade, lithology and overbreakEnsure all plans and sections are updated with production, survey and drilling dataAssist with the interpretation of the grade control data to produce wireframe modelsAssist in the production of grade control block modelsEffectively communicate geological, geotechnical and grade information to Mining Contractor and Technical Services teamMentor and lead Geologists and Technicians to excel in their rolesIdentify specific areas that have the potential for improvement and cost savingsTake on the role of the Senior Mine Geologist in their absenceABOUT YOUYou are a collaborative and motivated individual, who is a committed team player with strong interpersonal skills. THE ROLE

  • Effectively communicate geological, geotechnical and grade information to Mining Contractor and Technical Services team
  • Mentor and lead Geologists and Technicians to excel in their roles
  • Identify specific areas that have the potential for improvement and cost savings
  • Take on the role of the Senior Mine Geologist in their absence

You have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology are essential
  • Demonstrated experience in an Underground Mining environment
  • Narrow-vein Gold deposit experience would be preferred
  • A sound understanding of underground grade control processes, including diamond drilling
  • Current C-class WA drivers licence
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Datamine, Datashed, Supervisor and Leapfrog would be advantageous
