THE ROLE:We are looking for dependable and committed Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our Maintenance team for work at our Daisy Milano underground mine located approximately 50 kms south-east of Kalgoorlie. You will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the Daisy Milano mine by servicing and maintaining the fleet of vehicles operated to safe and acceptable standard.Key areas of responsibility for these roles include:Preventative and breakdown maintenance on light vehicles (Toyota Hilux and Landcruiser), Integrated Tool Carriers and Flatbed trucksFault finding using both diagnostic equipment and driver interactionInspect, test drive and issue roadworthiness directions prior to return of vehiclesProactively ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed to minimise vehicle downtimeUndertake air-conditioning system maintenance, re-gas and repairEnsure high level of record keeping and condition monitoring reports are prepared and issued as appropriateUndertake and report on exhaust gas testingEnsure all isolation and safety procedures are followed and upheldABOUT YOU:You are an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who has the ability to communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Your strong safety focus, coupled with your exceptional problem solving and fault-finding ability, will see you become a valuable asset to the Maintenance team.You can demonstrate you have:Current Western Australian Automotive Trade CertificateMinimum 5 years post trade qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance, particularly in Toyota Hilux and Landcruiser brands.Automotive Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling Licence is essentialDemonstrated experience in maintaining a commercial mining fleet of vehiclesMinimum C class driver’s licenceDemonstrated ability to follow health and safety regulations & systemsA safe, pro-active, preventative maintenance mentalityBe a self-starter with a strong and consistent work ethicThis is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established and stable operation on an 8:6 roster, moving to 15:13 roster later in the year. Ideally you will DIDO from Kalgoorlie and surrounds, but a FIFO from Perth will be considered for exceptional applicants.
