Graduate Geologist

Deflector is a high-grade, narrow vein Gold and Copper mine that is located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally controlled lodes, and a second decline is commencing development shortly to access the high-grade Deflector South-West lodes making it a busy and exciting time for the Deflector team. THE ROLEDue to recent internal promotions and transfers within our expanding suite of assets, we are looking for enthusiastic and personable Graduate Geologists to join the Deflector team. Working closely with experienced and talented professionals, you will have the opportunity to build an exceptional foundation in the industry through exposure to a broad range of technical tasks, varying deposits and hands-on practical experience. You will learn industry best practice while understanding how to operate in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.Your key responsibilities of the role will include:Assist Geologists to complete work programmes as planned;Liaise with contractors, suppliers, Traditional Owners, Landholders and other Departments as directed;Undertake diamond core processing, including logging, mark-up and orientation, core cutting, sampling and other related measurements;Ensure RC percussion and Air core programmes are conducted to company standard, with particular reference to logging, sampling and QAQC protocols;Assist with underground mapping and sampling to minimise ore loss and dilution and increase the geological understanding of the deposit;Undertake other sampling and data collection activities as required;Maintain Exploration assets in good order;Complete rehabilitation of drill sites and other related ground disturbance activities.About YouYou are a collaborative and practical individual, who has fantastic interpersonal skills and shares our passion for excellence.
