We are looking for a passionate and adaptable Emergency Services Officer/Medic to join the OHS team at Silver Lake's Mount Monger Operations (MMO), located 50km South-East of Kalgoorlie. MMO is comprised of multiple mining centres and a centralised Processing facility, with this role based primarily at the historic Daisy Milano Underground Gold mine. THE ROLEReporting directly to the OHS Superintendent, the main focus of the role is to ensure site Emergency preparedness and awareness, as well as to provide medical treatment for injury and illness. You will also provide support to the OHS team in conducting incident investigations, inspections and coverage where required. Key responsibilities include:Providing 24Hr Site Medic services to the MMOMonitor, review, audit and improve the MMO emergency event and capability risk profile and complianceMaintain the site Emergency Response Plan and related ProceduresMaintain currency with industry best practice in safety and emergency responseAssist in facilitating the review and development of an approved Emergency Management Training Improvement PlanDeliver general site emergency response training programs, Emergency & Crisis Management Team training and exercises to site TeamsMaintain all emergency management infrastructure and resources to regulatory, manufacturer and company standardsCoordinate and conduct routine maintenance and inspections of all rescue and emergency equipment, MMO medical centres, first aid equipment, ambulances and medical stockConduct work place inspections and auditsCompile and present statistical reports on injuries, type, frequency and action as directed by the OHS Superintendent ABOUT YOUAs a key part of this lean and dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of and put your stamp onto Emergency procedures. You work well in a team environment, and are able to effectively communicate and influence a wide range of people. You can also demonstrate you have:At least 4 years’ Underground experience and in a similar roleCertificate IV of Work Place Assessing and TrainingCertificate IV Health Care (Ambulance)Certificate IV Occupational Health and SafetyMinimum Cert III Mine Emergency Response, including closed circuit BACurrent WA "C" Class driver’s licenceChem-Alert Administrator would be an advantageICAM or Tap-Root Investigation Training would be preferredA High level of computer literacy skillsDesirable qualifications:Diploma in Occupational Health and SafetyDiploma Paramedical ScienceSurface Ventilation TechnicianThis role is offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie.
