Emergency Services Officer/Medic

Rothsay Gold Mine is one of Australia’s newest underground gold mines located north-east of Perth and only one hour by plane. With excellent facilities such as an medic/ERT office, fire truck, ambulance, ERT dome shelter and training ground, Rothsay is ready for someone to take the lead.As a key part of Rothsay Gold mine, the Emergency Services Officer/Medic will be responsible for conducting the site’s Emergency training as well as ensuring availability and maintenance of the site’s emergency equipment and supplies. In this dual role, you will also be responsible for providing appropriate medical treatment for injury and illnesses, maintaining the site’s medical facilities and processing site entry medicals. This busy and challenging position will see you assist in developing the site’s Emergency Management plan, develop and deliver site training, and drive medical and incident readiness for the operation.Key responsibilities of this role will include:Maintain the mine rescue capability, functionality and preparedness on site;Train and coordinateSite Medic to the level of qualification held, including being on-call when rostered on site;Develop and deliver site training including workshops, awareness programs and skill based national accreditation;Develop procedures, systems and provide guidance to ensure a safe and healthy workplace;Facilitate and assist the management team with return to work programs, restrictions and injury management;Help identify potential risks or required precautions for employees, contractors and visitors as part of the site entry process;Educate and guide site personnel on best practices to maintain a healthy body and mind. ABOUT YOU:As a passionate and results-driven professional, you will bring your diplomacy, technical expertise and passion for safety to this dynamic and challenging role. You have a positive attitude and a demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds to achieve site and legislative objectives. In addition to this you have:Minimum 3 years’ Mine Site OHS experience;At least 1 year of experience in Emergency Response Coordination;Certificate III in Emergency Response;Certificate IV Pre-hospital care or equivalent;Certificate IV Training and Assessment;Previous experience in effectively using Safety Management Databases;Injury Management and Workers Compensation Management experience would be an advantage;Occupation Health and legislative reporting (Safety Resources System) would be preferred;Hold a current C Class driver's license and multiple other mobile plant licences.You will be required to do an 8:6 roster.
