Electrical Leading Hand Underground

We are looking for suitably qualified person for the above role to join our Maintenance team for work at our Maxwells underground mine site located approximately 60 kms south east of Kalgoorlie. This role is the "go-to" person for shift electricians and supervisors and ensures the electrical team operates safely and smoothly and motivate team members to meet daily goals set by supervisors and the Mining Team.Key areas of responsibility for these roles include:Assist the electrical supervisor to optimise resources and complete agreed daily objectivesAssist with the coordination and scheduling of day-to-day electrical activities to ensure that equipment and resources are efficiently utilisedAllocate general duties and daily maintenance tasks to shift electriciansMentor and train new/existing shift electricians/apprentices/Trade assistants including problem-solving and fault finding.Mentor and train the on-the-job use of specific electrical tooling and test equipment emphasising safety.Ensure compliance with the Mines Safety & Inspection Regulations 1995, Electricity Act 1945 & Regulations 1947, Electricity Licensing Regulations 1991, Australian Standards as appropriate and SLR Policies and Workplace Procedures.Assist in implement immediate remedial action on all detected hazards from workplace, DMP or safety inspections.Assist in ensuring the Mine Electrical Log Books are maintained, current and available for inspection at all times.Help assist the maintenance planning function by providing correct information feedbackEnsure all preventative maintenance and statuary functions are performedAssist in the development of Departmental strategy for achieving the agreed annual targets of the operation. As a minimum you must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:Current Western Australian Electrical Workers License UnrestrictedMinimum 3 years in a similar roleQualifications and experience in HV switchingBasic knowledge of Industrial Relations legislationA good knowledge of underground leaky feeder communication systemsA safe, pro-active, preventative maintenance mentalityBe a self-starter with a strong and consistent work ethicThis role will report to the Electrical Supervisor, working an 8:6 FIFO ex Perth roster.If this role sounds like the challenge you are looking for then please click ‘Apply now’ and follow the prompts.You must be either an Australian citizen or hold a valid work visa to work in Australia to be eligible to apply for this position.Silver Lake’s preference is to deal with candidates directly and therefore Agencies’ applications will not be considered at this stage.
