THE ROLEThe role of Boilermaker is primarily responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance to mechanical equipment in the Deflector Processing plant, borefields, site infrastructure and village. As a dedicated and hard-working Fixed-Plant Boilermaker, you will bring experience and expertise to our team, while providing support to Mechanical Fitters and Maintenance Electricians. You will ensure tasks are completed in a safe manner and plant equipment is maintained at a high level of availability at all times, while demonstrating excellent teamwork and commitment to high quality work.Key responsibilities of this role will include:Developing and working within site safety structures, including adhering to site safety directives, conducting risk assessments and developing and working to SOPsCarrying out Preventative and Planned Maintenance on fixed plantRegular maintenance on crushing circuit which includes Metso jaw crusher, HP cone crushers and screen, as well as feeders and conveyorsFabrication of structural components to a high level of skillAbility to read and understand drawingsUnderstanding of relevant Australian StandardsCrane Driving and Rigging operationsParticipation in call out rosterABOUT YOUYou are personable, inclusive and can develop excellent working relationships with your team, other departments, and contractors. You will be able to anticipate needs and react quickly to ensure all plant equipment is functional, as well as manage multiple demands on your time in a calm and considered manner.This will be supported by the following qualifications and experience:Mechanical Trade Qualification (Boilermaker);Minimum of 3+ years post trade qualification and mine site experience;Boilermaking experience in a mineral processing plant, this will include extensive hands on experience with fabrication from drawings, Mig and arc welding repairs, manufacturing of wear plates, maintenance on jaw and cone crusher circuits and equipment;The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised;Understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations;Hold a current C Class Driver’s license and Senior First Aid Certificate;Working at Heights, Confined Space and High Risk tickets are essential;A proven commitment to safety and the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of functions and personalities across the organisation; andDogging and/or Rigging and CN licenses.The Deflector Processing plant has recently undergone a major capital upgrade, with a CIP circuit and second Ball Mill to the existing crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering circuit. We are offering the successful candidate the opportunity to join our team during this exciting period of growth working on a small, well-maintained and busy plant.This role is offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton and surrounding areas. You will be part of a small, committed and friendly team, working on a mine that is going from strength to strength.
