Water Services Technician – Deflector

The Deflector Mine is an underground, shallow, narrow-vein Gold and Copper mine that commenced production in May 2016. The ore is contained in a series of structurally controlled, high-grade lodes and is processed at our purpose-build processing plant. Gold is recovered through gravity methods, and Flotation is used to produce a copper concentrate. We are currently upgrading the Processing plant to include a leaching circuit, which will open up several new ore sources in the Deflector tenement.  With record Gold production and strong Exploration drilling results immediately to the south and south-west of the existing resource, Deflector continues to have a bright future ahead.THE ROLE:As a key part of the Deflector Maintenance team, we are looking for an experienced Plumber to work as a site-based Water Services Technician. Reporting to the Mechanical Leading Hand, the primary focus of the role will be take ownership of the maintenance of key water infrastructure, such as the Reverse Osmosis Plant and Borefields, whilst assisting in the compliance of several statutory and duty of care functions of the operation in regards to emergency facilities and hygiene requirements.Other responsibilities will include:Breakdown and preventative maintenance of Reverse Osmosis plant, Borefields, Waste Water Treatment Plant and the camp and administration building’s plumbing services;Project manage any small to medium scale plumbing infrastructure upgrades;Maintenance of dewatering pumps including Southern Cross Pumps, Grundfos pumps and pump alignments;Assisting the Maintenance Fitters on fixed plant repairs;Butt and Electrofusion Polywelding; andFoster close working relationships with processing staff and contractor personnel. ABOUT YOU:You are a reliable, driven and passionate Water Services Maintenance professional with demonstrated experience working in a mine site environment. You can work well with a wide range of people and take ownership of your work whilst delivering to an exceptionally high standard.As a minimum you must have the following qualifications, skills and experience:Mechanical or Plumbing Trade qualification;Minimum 3 years in a mine site maintenance role;Demonstrated experience in preventative maintenance and diagnostics of Reverse Osmosis and Wastewater Treatment plants;C class driver’s licence;CN Franna crane ticket preferred;LF fork lift ticket essential;Confined space and working at heights tickets.You will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and busy role, on a mine site that is in an exciting phase of growth. The position is offered on a 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, or DIDO from Geraldton and surrounding areas.
