Mining Engineering Vacation Students x 3 (Mount Monger Operations)

Working as part of the Mount Monger Operations south-east of Kalgoorlie, you will provide support to and learn from highly experienced Mining Engineering Professionals. We have positions available at our Daisy Milano and Mount Belches underground mines, as well as our Aldiss Open Pit mining area. You will work closely with Mining Engineers and our underground contractor, GBF, in this diverse and interesting role, giving you the opportunity to sound out where you would like to focus your career beyond graduation.Key responsibilities of this role will include:Observe and provide support to Engineering activities in long hole stoping and airleg mining;Support and carry out vibration monitoring;Provide support to QAQC activities on production charging;Assist with Drill and Blast plans and inspections;Assist with dewatering activities;Provide support to QAQC monitoring of ground support compliance installationAbout YouYou are an enthusiastic, hardworking, motivated individual with a passion for Mining Engineering and high attention to detail. To be considered for these roles, you will;Have recently completed your 3rd or 4th year of study towards a Bachelor of Mining Engineering;Have a current, manual "C" class Western Australian driver’s licence;Be able to obtain a National Police Clearance;Be physically able to undertake manual work, and meet the requirements of a pre-employment medical examination; andReturn a clear drug and alcohol test, both at the pre-employment medical and at all times during your employment.Working ConditionsYou will have the opportunity to work in an interesting and diverse role on a FIFO from Perth or residential Kalgoorlie basis. Working in a small team environment, you will get a broad range of experience and make valuable industry contacts that will stay with you throughout your career.These roles will commence late November to early December 2019 until the end of February 2020;The roster cycle will vary to suit business needs but may be either 2:1 or 8:6.
