ITC Support Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful Deflector Gold/Copper Mine during an expansion phase. We are looking for a site-based ITC Support Officer to take responsibility for delivering and maintaining IT systems & support for an initial 12-month fixed term. Based primarily at the Deflector mine, this role will also take on responsibility for supporting the nearby Rothsay Mine which commenced recently. This is a newly created role which will work back to back with an existing ITC Support officer and assist the Perth-based IT team in delivering support and project work to the mine in this important phase of growth.   Key areas of responsibility for this role include:Ensuring service desk tickets are effectively managed and service levels are exceeded;Ensuring clients are kept up to date with resolution efforts on current incidents;Contributing to the documentation of IT Policies and Procedures;Logging calls in the ticketing system, and to update calls as action is taken;Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners;Installing, investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults;Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies;Installing and maintaining operating systems, network and application software on desktop computers;Maintaining regular housekeeping procedures, including data de-duplication, data backups, network and storage optimisation;Conducting training in systems use and access;Continuously monitoring and maintaining system access and security.ABOUT YOU:You are a driven and motivated IT professional who thrives in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. Your critical thinking and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines within a supportive and appreciative team environment will see you excel in this role.You can demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience:Experience in or sound knowledge of Microsoft technologies, such as Active Directory and MS Office suite;Outstanding organisational skills to manage high volumes of cases and deal with multiple clients and vendors;Basic understanding of network technologies, such as switching, routing, and firewalls;Knowledge in Windows Server 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2016; Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016 & Windows 7/8.1/10;At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role;Basic understanding of Networking (LAN, VLAN, TCP/IP etc…);Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills;Demonstrated commitment to providing a high level of customer service;Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical staff.This role will report to the Perth-based IT Manager, working an 8:6 FIFO roster. It is initially expected to be for a 12-month fixed term but may be extended to meet site requirements.
